Our Program
- Year round activities: Twice-weekly rehearsals during the school year and a five-week, full-day Summer Learning Program with two to three hours of music daily plus reading, science, art, and African Dance and Drumming.
- Most sessions at Swarthmore College in the state-of-the-art Lang Music Building
- Graded instruction including Training Chorus, Junior Choir, and Concert Choir. The most advanced singers form small ensembles and have the opportunity to sing classical masterworks with Swarthmore College Chorus.
- Emphasis on reading music, understanding theory, hearing harmony, and appreciating musical artistry.
- Three to five community-wide concerts each year in Chester, Swarthmore, and elsewhere.
- Music teaching program directed by John Alston, associate professor of music at Swarthmore College.
