Get On Up
Someone said, “Love your neighbor as yourself.”
There are lots of folks who need our help.
We’re afraid to help each other.
Do you ever wonder why?
Children starving while we keep turning away,
People everywhere are yearning today.
No more talk or conversation.
It’s time for us to try.
Oh, Get on up.
Oh, Get on up.
Oh, Get on up, Get on up, Get on up.
It’s time for us to love.
Desolation, isolation.
While we indulge in celebration,
While we ignore the voice inside, the voice from up above.
Someone said, “We should turn the other cheek,
That one day the world goes to the meek.”
But that day will never come, until we learn to love.
Don’t give up, don’t give in, just keep your faith,
For the Lord will help you day by day.
If you believe and trust Him,
Then you’ll learn how to love.
